Hype5 Theater (plugin)

Hype5 Theater adds a theatre's information to WordPress and publishes it on the theatre's own website.

You manage Details
Productions The work: text, poster, repertory status, premiere, duration, language, genres, audience recommendations, media, visitor information, partners and links. See Productions.
People and credits Optional person profiles, and credits that record who did what — with or without a profile. See People and Credits and cast.
Performances Dates as separate records, with venue, time zone, status, events, services and accessibility. Series and tours are entered in one go. See Schedule and performances.
Ticket offers Links to the sellers where tickets are bought, with prices and availability. See Ticket offers.
Venues Addresses, arrival information and accessibility defaults. See Venues.

On the website it provides production and person pages, lists of productions and people, and a schedule, through shortcodes, two blocks and templates that a theme can override. Its look is configured in the Appearance studio.

Hype5 Theater is managed in the Hype5 app (code name Fuajee), an application inside the WordPress administration that Hype5 Theater in the WordPress sidebar opens directly. Everyone with a Hype5 Theater administration permission opens it; there is nothing to switch on. The plugin's classic WordPress screens remain as compatibility screens for tasks the app hands to WordPress, and as the administration of a site that switches the app off.

Not included: ticket sales or payments, seating plans, maps or geocoding, a customer account system. Ticket offers link to external sellers; venue coordinates are stored but no map is shown.

Hype5 Stage (theme)

Hype5 Stage is a WordPress theme with an understated, near-monochrome design for theatres and performing-arts companies.

  • A complete theme for pages and posts: header, mobile menu, footer menus and widgets, search, archives and a 404 page; Classic Editor and block content.
  • Three colour schemes — Lights up, Lights down and System — that visitors can switch. See Lights up, Lights down and System.
  • A home page called the Marquee: the next performances and the season's posters, optionally under a full-bleed photograph or a muted background film. See Home page.
  • Settings in Appearance → Customise → Hype5 Stage. See Theme settings.

With Hype5 Theater active (version 0.7.0, tested, or a 0.6.17 Phase 5K build), Stage presents productions, people, venues and the schedule in its own design and fills its home page from the plugin's public schedule. Stage never stores theatre data of its own. See Hype5 Theater integration.
